I've been pretty out of gaming on the PC for quite some time. Heck, I don't even play Guitar Hero much anymore. But my son is getting me excited about gaming again.
I got him an XBox 360 for Christmas. His Uncle and Aunt got him CoD: MW2. I dang near got the same game for the PC, but for $60!!! Heck I'd do it if I could play against my son and daughter, but as per usual, they're keeping XBox online play separate from PC online play. That sucks.
I've tried playing on the XBox but that controller seems silly to me. It's not natural. It's like driving a tank compared to fluid movement. There's no official keyboard and mouse for the XBox that I know of, but there are a couple of adapters. One is crap, but the XIM2XIM2 looks promising.
At $185 for the adapter, it's not for the faint of heart. Even at that price, it's popular. I'll snag one once they come back in stock and give an update.
Keyboard and Mouse on the XBox 360!!!! woohoo

I look forward to the reveiw you give. I am boycotting MW2 for the PC because of the way they are doing the online play, but I might buy the XBOX360 game if the keyboard/mouse is pretty good.
I've heard the issues with the dedicated servers. I started to become soured on PC gaming once they moved to developer controlled servers. It just takes the creativity and control out of the PC online gaming community.
Unfortunately since the game took in over a half a billion dollars, our protests didn't have much impact.

So if I connect a keyboard and mouse directly on the USB ports of the Xbox 360, they will work because I doubt keyboard/mouse adapters will never replace keyboard/mouse native support in games... to my knowledge, using the mouse via one of these is no faster than possible with the regular Xbox controller.

heronfisher,
I think what he means is that in being used to the setup of a mouse and keyboard, the controller is harder to get used to and I personally prefer mouse and keyboard over the controller because its what im used to and what I'm comfortable with.
You cannot just connect a mouse and keyboard to the USB port of an XBOX. However, you can hack a controller to take inputs from a computer's keyboard and mouse. It makes XBox games control similarly to PC games.
You can flick move in PC games. On the XBox you move like RoboCop. Mouse and keyboard are more analog... more fluid.
With that being said, I've given up on buying the keyboard/mouse hack.
1. My TV is above my monitor and it's just not ergonomic to use my computer's keyboard and mouse while looking up all the time to play the game.
2. I can only play at my desk. When I play anywhere else, I won't know how to use a controller.
