2009-04-01 08:20:13 The BF series is going back to it's roots with a modern graphics engine and revamped maps. In-game menuing and game-play looks to be dumbed down a bit, or maybe I should say arcadish. Hopefully there will be options to hide floating icons. I mean, do you really need a floating icon to tell you there's a 30 foot plane in front of you? It just distracts from the realizm. 2010-08-24 06:42:20 I got the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars server going for Clan Beowulf last night. You can find it at ozscloset.dyndns.org (IP 72.16.238.100). I'm a ET:QW noob-born baby, so I provided little challenge for the few that popped on the server. I spent most of my time checking for lag, setting my controls and figuring out what all the classes and weapons do. I think I may have done better if I played for the Humans. 2006-05-09 08:15:55 I think the original Ghost Recon was one of the best games ever made, so last week's release of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has been a huge let down. The graphics are great and the game is very realistic, but they lost the great mix of strategy and FPS of the original. (dumbing it down for the consoles.) In this version you are a Captain in command of a squad of three. You can't switch from soldier to soldier like the original so you can't get the joy of sniping someone's head off from 300 yds and then switch to a support member with a heavy machine gun mowing down everything in your path. read more... |

2008-11-29 16:47:11 So, Recently i've been trying to make Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 usable for my grandmother who is "Computer Illiterate" I thought at first, i'd just use Kiba-Block, or a *ewwww* Mac OSX theme. Either way, I just didn't see it working for her. It's a tiny little sylvania Netbook, Teaching new things to old people, is there anything more challenging? Either way, I stumbled accross Gos, An operating system i still don't fully understand, but it appears to be a google-xp-ubuntu based OS...HOW!!!! I was trying to understand how someone could do it....It's been done, the new beta v.3.0 is really amazing, I had to run the iso (697mb) to a flash seeing as the netbook isn't big enough for a cd drive. Installed in about 10 minutes, run's, operates, easy setup, Vista like desktop gadgets, with the default 10gb hd in the Sylvania netbook, it took up 2k mb for the ENTIRE os...anyone noticed the vista default install (IE without using a preboot vlite edition) it's around 6-7 gb's... read more... |

2007-05-18 08:49:03 Usually service packs are just bug fixes. However, Microsoft has really put a lot of effort and resources into this much anticipated update to the most popular flight sim in the world. While some users of SP1 are experiencing some random crashes, others report performance gains of 20 to 30%. Count me in the latter group. My FSX runs silky now with most everything cranked. That may not seem like a big deal for an SLI rig, but keep in mind FSX is more CPU dependent. SP1 uses the second core more efficiently now. See Phil Taylor's Blog on the Read More.
